Big wins for housing

We and our housing coalition partners @1000oregon @betterhousingtogether @centraloregonlandwatch @portlandneighborswelcome are excited to see these four essential housing bills pass the legislature. But most of all, we want to thank you for showing up when it mattered most. Your voices were heard, and it made a difference this session. Thank you for emailing, calling your legislators, and submitting testimony on behalf of smart housing initiatives.

But our work isn’t done! Funding requested for some of these programs was reduced and, in addition, the legislature failed to provide other funding necessary to keep many Oregonians in the housing they already have. Effective programs to prevent homelessness and preserve existing affordable housing were funded below needed levels. But we will be working with housing advocates to build back these and other housing programs.

For now, we’re celebrating wins and planning ahead. We hope you’ll continue to join us in these efforts.
